Copied from the Billfish Foundation press release "This white marlin was tagged on 9/2/13 by Captain Patrick Kelly and angler Matthew Kelly aboard "Megabite" off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. But they forgot to send in the tag data card. 1453 days later, the crew on "Underdog", Jake Boltz, Robert Mudgett, and Capt. Jake Hiles contacted us to let us know that they had recaptured the fish, but we didn't have any of the original tag information. Well, luckily, the Megabite crew still had the card laying around and we were able to put some of the pieces of the puzzle together. We don't know exactly where it went in those four years, but it was recaptured a straight line distance of 183 nautical miles from where it was originally tagged. Thanks to all parties involved for supporting billfish conservation and taking part in the Tag & Release Program, and thanks to 20Echo, Casa Vieja Lodge, Costa Sunglasses, Garmin, King Sailfish Mounts, Pelagic, and YETI."
