Offshore charter fishing report 10-4

On October 4, Underdog Charters had an offshore fishing charter from departing from the Virginia Beach fishing center at rudee inlet. The weatehr out in the gulf stream was gorgeous and the satellite shot from the night before the trip showed a beautiful temperature change with a nice warm water eddy off the coast of Virginia. We left at 4am and found a nice change loaded with mahi mahi and nearly immediately stopped and bailed dolphin, catching our limit of a nice class of mahi very quickly. then it was off to some bottom fishing. We stopped and quickly caught a limit of nice blueline tilefish and had our boxes full of meat, but still had a lot of daylight left for fishing, so we went out offshore a little further and made a daytime swordfish drop. Within a half hour we were hooked up. We caught and released a nice 50 pound swordfish to end the trip. It was just one of those days where we get easy fishing and everything works out. We had a nice box full of meat with a billfish release as a kicker.

The fishing off Virginia Beach is really great right now but soon we will be moving to orgeon inlet to fish for yellowfin tuna in the fall tuna run. We have plenty of days available for charter and will be happy to get you booked. Call capt. Jake at 7577496008 and we will get you booked! Thanks!
